A much more still shot. Testing out the new 720p camera, records to mp4v codec and has much higher FPS, gspot says 25 FPS. Bitrate seems a bit small at 6000kbps. Should go up since we can see the pixelation.

If I root my Droid now, will I have to root it again to get Android 2.2 (Froyo)?
Right now I have Android 2.1. I understand that I can go back to 2.0.1 (losing all my apps and settings in the process), then root it, and install a ROM that's based on 2.1.
But 2.2 (aka "Froyo) is almost here, so will I have to do this again to get it? Or is rooting something that is only done once, and so when 2.2 is out I can simply install a ROM based on it without rooting again?

What will be the new features of the Android 2.2 Froyo update?
I just bought a Samsung Captivate and heard the Android 2.2 update will be available soon. I just changed over from an iPhone and I'm happy so far, but there are a few things I don't like. One, on media that I've moved onto my phone (movies), the phone doesn't show thumbnails, and in some cases no file names. Another thing is that there are no notifications on updates that are available for my apps. Are they going to address things like this with the update?

How do you Update Nexus One to Android 2.2 from the Philippines?
A few weeks ago I asked my uncle who is on vacation in the US to buy me a Nexus One.
Anyway, I know that the official OTA Froyo update was released about two months ago and I was wondering if it were possible to receive the update notification from the Philippines. If so, what are the possible prerequisites for me to receive the update; like whether or not I should have a 3g postpaid simcard and other stuff.
Also, is there an official installation file that i can download from a PC for manual

Why has my Motorola Droid (Original) Not Updated to Android 2.2 yet?
On Wednesday night 8/11/10 my wife's Droid updated to Android Froyo 2.2. As of today, Friday 8/13/10 my Droid has yet to update. When i try to manually update it says "Your system is up to date". My firmware version is 2.1-update1 so this is obviously not true. Any ideas other then downloading the update and flashing the ROM?

Google today responded to Oracle's patent lawsuit with an intention to defend itself. It called the anti-Android dispute "baseless" and argued that the complaint wasn't just attacking Google but anyone using open-source Java. Work would keep going on Android during the lawsuit....
