Android 2.2 Text Messaging issue?

I just downloaded Android 2.2 update for my cell this morning. So far its cool, but I am no longer able to get incoming text messages or send them (other then with the new android voice app). My old messaging app icon is still on my main menu, but when i hit it, it says its not installed on the phone. My other issue is that the android market doesn't have that basic app that came with the phone to download (that I was able to find). Am I doing something wrong or is something in the system di
